Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, has leapt to Marouane Fellaini’s defence, after the player was caught up in a spitting row in Sunday’s Manchester derby.
United defender Chris Smalling, had already been shown a second yellow in the first half, before Fellaini appeared to spit on Sergio Aguero, as the striker laid on the floor after a tackle in the penalty area.
The FA have already said they will review video footage of the incident and consult referee Michael Oliver, before taking any further action.
