Atletico Madrid president claims Diego Costa left for Chelsea in a moment of weakness

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo, has claimed that Diego Costa left the club for Chelsea because he was “weak”.
The Spain international completed a £32million move to Stamford Bridge in the summer, after scoring 25 goals for the La Liga champions last term.
Costa has continued his hot scoring streak with the Blues and now has nine goals in eight appearances.

“He’s one of the best strikers in the world. His departure was rushed through because he had a moment of weakness and he couldn’t say no,” Cerezo said.

“If the same were to happen now, he wouldn’t leave. The financial side was not so great for us. We received around 50% of what had been discussed.”
