He is one of Hollywood's most monitored celebrities.
And
to get away from the scrutinizing limelight, Brad Pitt ventured to the
redwood forests in Northern California for the November issue of Details.
Inside
the pages, the 50-year-old outdoorsman - who tied the knot with
actress Angelina Jolie in August - revealed his love of nature. He also
confessed, 'I've discovered I don't suck at being a dad.'

Since
being in a relationship with Jolie, he has become a dad to six
children: 12-year-old Maddox, 11-year-old Pax, Zahara, aged nine,
Shiloh, aged eight, and twins Knox and Vivienne, aged six.
Brad
told the publication he's learned to tune out the scrutiny of
constantly being watched and recorded especially while promoting new
films and projects.
'My
soul was stolen by the camera so long ago, I don't have to think about
it anymore,' he said. 'One definition of freedom is the ability to
follow your bliss without being watched, recorded, scrutinized.'
The actor revealed he finds his bliss while exploring the outdoors and being one with the natural world.

He
explained: 'I will always be most comfortable in the outdoors. I grew
up in the Ozarks - something resembling Mark Twain country. The woods,
rivers, bluffs, lakes and caves have all left an indelible mark on me.
And I'm quite reverential when it comes to a tree.'
The
nature lover even got a tree tattoo on his body. 'On my forearm, I had
tattoed 94.9m (311.4ft) - the height of the largest sequoia.'
And
during the interview, Brad recalled fond childhood memories of spending
the days being a rambunctious rider in his hometown of Springfield,
Missouri.
'I
first rode at age seven on my cousin's Honda Mini Trail 50. I tried to
jump it and ran it into my grandmother's ca. He was severly pissed off,'
he reminisced.
'My
first bike was a Kawi 150 enduro. I won it at age twelve in a contest
for selling the most pecan log rolls door to door after school. I
crashed it four weeks later.'
Nowadays,
he tries to fit time for riding every time he gets. 'I try to carve out
time for a solo ride in every country I travel to, from the Highlands
of Scotland to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco to the belly of India. I
haven't even come close to fulfilling my list - yet. But in the traffic
of L.A. with a helmet on, I'm just another asshole on the road.'
