Legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta has died.
The A-lister favourite passed away Monday aged 82 after battling cancer.
Taylor Swift was among the first celebrities to pay tribute to de la Renta following the news of his death.
'My
all-time favorite designer has passed away. Oscar, it was an honor to
wear your creations and to know you. In loving memory,' she tweeted to
her 45.5m followers.

24-year-old singer accompanied her tweet with a snap of her wearing one
of his gowns to the Costume Institute Gala in New York in May.
At the event, she said it was a 'daydream realised' to wear a custom-made gown by the designer.
'Oscar
de la Renta is the designer I've idolized since I was a little girl,'
she told Us Weekly. 'Having an opportunity to wear a one-of-kind gown
designed by him is a daydream realized.'

Karlie Kloss called the designer 'extraordinary' in a touching tribute.
'The world lost one of the most extraordinary people that I have ever met.
'Thank
you for helping me become the woman I am today and for always inspiring

His
wife Annette de la Renta confirmed to the New York Times that the
legendary fashion designer passed away at his Kent, Connecticut home on
Monday.
De la Renta was diagnosed with cancer in 2006, however a cause of death is yet to be revealed.

He is survived by his wife and his adopted son Moises.
De
la Renta first came to prominence designing clothes for Jackie Kennedy
in the early 1960s, and he started his own fashion label a few years
later.
Most
recently, he was behind the wedding dress of George Clooney's wife
Amal, and starred alongside the bride in a photo shoot for Vogue.

Amy Adams, Jennifer Garner and Cameron Diaz have all dazzled in his creations at the Academy Awards in recent years.
An
episode of Sex And The City was even dedicated to the designer, and saw
Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker), wear a stunning frock
to the ballet with Aleksandr Petrovsky (Mikhail Baryshnikov).
